School journey

An Opportunity Too Good to Miss...

The residential trip is the highlight of the school year for many children in year 5 and 6. It is also an opportunity for children to learn new skills and discover talents they may already have but haven’t used yet. For many children school journey is their first trip away from home. It offers them the opportunity to be independent in a safe way, with friends and teachers they know well. Children returning from the trip typically describe it as fun, exciting, challenging... they are always pround of themselves for taking new risks and making new friends.

Our venues are carefully chosen to offer the children new experiences, we visit contracting localities and select activities they wouldn't usually be able to do. By changing venues each year we re able to offer each child at least two very special experiences.

By running the trip over a weekend we are able to offer it at a hugely reduced rate. The reduced cost is because staff freely offer their time for the weekend and we are able to take advantage of off-peak weekend prices. Our aim is to reduce the cost so that EVERY child will have the opportunity to take part. As part of their preparation for the trip children are encouraged to organise events, they work with teachers and the PTA to run fund raising events adding to the fun and anticipation as they prepare for their big adventure, so far we have always been successful in reducing the cost to under £100 - great value for 4 days away with activities!
