In Mrs Longhurst's first assembly of term every single child from Y1 to Y6 gave their own ideas about the things that were important to them in creating a happy and safe school. The Senior Leadership team read each of the ideas carefully and tried to group them into themes before combining as many as possible into two statements which have become the new Mandeville "Golden Rules". We cannot tell you how impressed we have been with the thoughtful and mature contributions that the children gave us which featured words such as resilience, determination, co-operation, respect, equality, fairness, perseverance, kindness and effort to name but a few. The statements we have agreed are:
We are kind and respectful, treating others the way that we would like to be treated.
We will be confident, positive and determined to be the best that we can be.
These rules have come entirely from the children and for that reason they may work at home as well!
