Summer School Fun

During the Summer Holidays 60 lucky children were given the opportunity to attend Mandeville’s Wonderful and Wacky Summer School.

The theme for this year’s summer school was Science with each day having a different theme such as "Orrible Science", Minibeasts and Circus Skills.
There were lots of trips and visitors  arranged which gave them all lots to share upon their return to school in September. These included a farm visit to the school, a circus skills workshop and a dinosaur man.

One of the highlights was a trip to Butterfly World where Creepy Crawlies were handed round for everyone to hold and butterflies chose many of our children as an exciting place to land!!

Every day the children all worked together in small groups to cook their own healthy lunches. Chocolate making proved great fun with lots of chocolate being eaten as well as made!!

Mrs Hayes ran action packed science workshops with themes such as "Orrible Science" where they learned all about the Human digestive system and our fantastic wild area  provided a wonderful environment for the children to learn more about the fascinating world of minibeasts,

Thanks go once again to the Rotary Club of St Albans who helped fund all the exciting events .

Overall a fabulous time was had by both children and staff alike with everyone already looking forward to next year
