Mandeville is a school for children between the ages of 3 and 11 years. We are an ambitious and forward looking school which aims to make a real difference to the children who come here. We work in partnership with parents and the local community to provide a wide range of services and support. We were delighted in March 2008 to be judged OUTSTANDING by OFSTED in every aspect of our work, this judgement was re-confirmed by OfSTED in 2011.

An exciting building project is currently being completed, this has been a £5m project to redesign the school over the last two years.  The school now has a beautifil state-of-the-art foundation stage unit, which combines nursery and reception.  They have excellent facilities inside and outside, including a large landscaped area to encourage discovery and ambitious play, excellent ICT facilities and generous indoor space for every aspect of learning andplay.  Keystage 1 and 2 includes 12 light and spacious classrooms with excellent facilities,  space for learning outdoors and excellent ICT facilities.  The classrooms are complimented by landscaped playgrounds at the heart of the school, which encourages social play and the opportunity to use a variety of different environments.  In redesigning the school we have sought to value the natural environment and to use every possible opportunity to learn from the world around us - we are extremely proud of the results, which are already exceeding our expectations.

Most of our pupils come from the surrounding neighbourhood, reflecting the cosmopolitan nature of our local community. Their differing backgrounds are respected by everyone and add interest and insight to our lessons. In each class there are children of varying abilities.

We offer a wide range of extended services to children and their families; breakfast club, after-school clubs, parent classes and adult education.e provide a wide variety of opportunities for our pupilsto exercise their talents and try their hand at new skills and interests.  We also work closely with a wide range of professionals to support families. Sopwell and Verulam Children's Centre is part of our school site, working with health professionals and child care specialists to offer the best possible range of services to pre-school children.

We consider our greatest strength to be the strong commitment of the staff and governors to provide a secure, caring and stimulating environment in which children will be encouraged and inspired to achieve their potential, in all aspects of their academic, physical and social development.

Our PTA works hard to host a range of social and fund raising activities for children throughout the year.

Yours faithfully
