SATS results 2009
The tests taken at the end of each keystage show what proportion of pupils are reaching the of keystage 1 (year 2) this is level 2, at the end of keystage 2 (year 6) this is level 4.
Of course every pupil's individual circumstances vary and this can have an impact on their performance, for example pupil new to the country or speaking English as a second language are less likely to reach level 4 than those who have been in the school since Nursery.
The results achieved by year 6 pupil in 2009 were:
- English 70%
- Maths 53%
- Science 82%.
To give this information more context it is useful to consider how much progress children have made since KS1.
- Of the 18 pupils in year 6 each child accounted for 6% of our results.
- 2 pupils joined the class from other countries speaking other languages, these children made excellent progress in their short time with us but did not reach the level expected of children who speak English fluently.
The graph below shows the progress made by each of the 16 pupils who have been in the school since year 2.

The graph shows the expected attainment at age 11 based on the children’s prior attainment, at age 7. The bold diagonal line is the expected attainment for pupils nationally – pupils on this line are meeting the national expectation for progress, those above it are doing better than expected. Each spot represents a pupil in year 6 and shows their attainment at the end of the keystage.
In a school meeting the expected progress pupils would be equally distributed around the median line. We are extremely proud that 11 of our 16 pupils are above the national expectation, 5 pupils are in the top 10% of progress nationally.
These are excellent results for the school, the value added score is 101.4, putting us in the top 8% of schools nationally.
