Financial Support

Parents in receipt of working tax credits may be able to claim for their child's/children's attendance at breakfast club and/or after-school clubs.

• The total number of hours and cost of childcare per week.

Mandeville offers support to families in five key areas:

Childcare

A breakfast club opens its doors at 7.50am every day to give children a great start to the school day combining fun and a healthy meal. Breakfast club costs £4.00 per day and there's no need to book (£2.00 for children eligible for Free School Meals). Faces, our after school care provision operates from 3.15 to 6.15pm every day that school is open. Childcare costs start at £5 per hour with discounts for siblings.

Mandeville School also offers a Summer School to invited pupils from both KS1 & KS2 during the summer holidays and an Easter School to our year 6 pupils in preparation for their end of tests.

Clubs and Activites

We organise a range of activities for children beyond normal school hours - everything from study support in a homework club to after-school club activities like art, dance, sports, gardening  and french. A letter outlining what's on offer, together with booking forms, goes out at the end of each term.

Parenting Support & Family Learning

In addition to all the usual opportunities for parents to come into school to learn more about their child's education, we also offer formal parenting classes, run by partners such as Parentline Plus, Families in Focus and Youthtalk. 

Through our partnership with Oaklands College and Herts Adult and Family Learning Service, we run occasional family learning sessions in fun activities like art or cooking where children can learn with their father, mother, carer or grandparent.

Adult Learning

Working in partnership with Herts Adult & Family Learning Service, we provide opportunities for you to improve your own education and keep up with your children. For the last two years, our adult learners have successfully sat OCR examinations with GCSE equivalence.

Referral to Specialist Services

Teachers frequently work in partnership with parents and other professionals like speech therapists, behaviour support workers and counsellors. Using the Common Assessment Framework (CAF) and with parental involvement and permission, professionals share information about the whole child at an early stage of their experiencing difficulties to ensure your child gets the best possible support at school.
