    Wed 25 Nov 2020

The application process for September 2021 (for children whose date of birth is between 1 September 2016 and 31 August 2017) will open on 2nd November 2020 and will close on 15 January 2021.

Unfortunately due to the current Covid restrictions we are no longer able to offer school tours. However, we have created a virtual tour with videos and information to replace the tours – please find the link to this below! At the end of the presentation you will find a link to three zoom Q&A sessions that are taking place. You are welcome to join any one of these and there is no need to let us know beforehand.

  • Important Information for September!

    Wed 15 Jul 2020 E. Bundy

Planning a COVID secure school for full opening in September

From September 2020 the Government guidelines state that all children must return to school, but that they must spend their time in school in consistent groups which do not mix with each other. The size of these groups should be determined by the school as all schools will have different circumstances to take into consideration.

At Mandeville, these consistent contact groups will be organised by academic phase which are clearly shown below. In order to keep them separate, each group will have its own set of instructions for the timings of a staggered start and end of day, as well as different times for break and lunch. All staff members allocated to the phased group can work with any of the children within their phase.

  • World Book Day

    Thu 05 Mar 2020 E. Bundy

It was amazing to see so many fantastic book characters walking around the school today. A special shout out and well done to all the home made costumes children created with their parents.

The aim of the day was to share a love of reading and encourage children to explore the pleasures of books. Children also should have received £1 book token which they can exchange for a book in their local book store.

  • Australia Day

    Fri 31 Jan 2020
On Monday 27th January we had our own Australia Day here at Mandeville. The aim was to support and raise money for WWF-Australia to aid them in helping animals who have been caught up in the bushfires. We would like to say big thank you to everyone for helping. We had Australian T-shirt designers, ANZAC biscuit  Bake - off, biscuit eaters and many green and gold wearers. We have raised a stunning £711! What a wonderful school community.
  • Friendship Award

    Fri 20 Dec 2019 E. Bundy

We have a very special boy at our school who has been awarded this term Friendship Award based on this letter from Miss Jones:

    Dear Mrs Longhurst,

"This term I believe the friendship award should go to someone in the Hawks class. When you first asked all the teachers who we should give it to, this person’s name popped straight into my head and I was shocked to find out he had not received it already. This boy is a friend to every person he meets and goes out of his way to make sure that every one is happy, learning and laughing.

Last week I set the class some very tricky maths. As I was going round helping everyone, I noticed that he had gone through every single question with another child in my class just to make sure they could succeed.

In ICT, I let year four sit on the sofa if they remember something from the previous lesson. He whispered the answers to others in the class so that they got a chance to sit on the sofas. He constantly, gives away his opportunities and good fortune to others in the class who might miss out.

When ever we do group work, he takes charge and asks every person in the group questions and gives them a warm smile to make sure they are involved, learning and happy. I know that whom ever I pair this boy with in my class, that child will be encouraged, supported and have a good time with their learning.

He also isn’t afraid to tell his class the hard truths. He helps them to make good choices. He is listened to and respected because of this.

He is liked by everyone in the class and is a friend to every single hawk and anyone who has the good fortune to meet him. I am very proud to have Muhtasim in my class. That is why I think he should receive the friendship award".

    Merry Christmas

    Miss Jones

  • Multi-faith and Kindness week

    Fri 15 Nov 2019 E. Bundy
It was so lovely to see lots of children wearing items of religious/family/cultural significance today, rounding off our multi-faith and kindness week beautifully. It is fantastic for us to celebrate Mandeville's diversity. Children represented many different countries including Spain, Albania, Poland, Hungary, Brazil, Barbados, Thailand, Nigeria, Israel, Australia, Sweden, Slovakia and many more alongside diverse religious beliefs as Islam, Christianity, Sikhism, Judaism and Buddhism.
  • Mandeville Remembers

    Mon 11 Nov 2019
We are so proud of our Reception and Nursery Children who created these fabulous Poppies to help us mark Remberance Day 2019. Such a wonderful way to show our local community how we pay tribute to the sacrifice of the Armed Forces of Britain and the Commonwealth
  • Motivational talk

    Wed 02 Oct 2019

Year 5 and Year 6 enjoyed a motivational talk by ex – Mandeville pupil Hasnat Chowdhury who has recently taken his GCSEs at Nicholas Breakspears.  As a result of his hard work and great attitude to learning, Hasnat was extremely successful in his exams, being awarded six grade 9s (equivalent of above the old A* grade), three grade 8s (equivalent of the old A* grade) and one grade 7 (equivalent of the A grade).

He talked to the children about the importance of a growth mindset, perseverance, belief in yourself and hard work in achieving your goals. He also told the children about what to expect in Year 7 – including detention for not having your PE kit! We are so grateful to Hasnat for giving us his time and his words of wisdom. He spoke with such a confidence and gave a lot of thought to his session. Mandeville is very proud of him!

  • Big Thank You!

    Fri 19 Jul 2019 E. Bundy

We would like to say a massive thank you to Miss K. Bunce and Mr. J. Wild (parents of Joseph & Honor) who dedicated hours of their free time and re-decorated our school animals with the help of the children. They do look amazing!

    Thank you.

  • Friendship Award

    Fri 19 Jul 2019 E. Bundy

We have a very special girl at school who has been awarded this term Friendship Award based on the letter received by Mrs. Longhurst:

"My name is Betty and I live at Grace Muriel House. I met some of your children when I came to your community gardening day and one of the children really stood out for me. I was a teacher a long time ago so I really enjoyed my morning with the children at school. When I met Tara, she introduced herself and asked my name. She was so kind and helpful; she helped me plant two hanging baskets, picking from the beautiful flowers. Meeting Tara has been the highlight of my year. I'm going to be 90 this month and she made my day. I don't want to do anything else for my birthday as this was such a special day, my best by far. Tara said if I come back to school we can meet and be friends I would very much like to be Tara's friend and I am so happy she is getting a friendship award. She is a special little girl."

Well done Tara, we are very proud!
